About this Lesson
Have you ever admired beautiful curved patchwork designs but felt too nervous to try them yourself?
Many sewists find curves intimidating, but with the right techniques they can be surprisingly enjoyable to sew. In this workshop, Kim will guide you through a variety of curved piecing methods, helping you build confidence and accuracy while exploring some of patchwork’s most iconic designs.
In this lesson, you will learn:
- how to sew smooth, accurate curves
- techniques for pinning and preparing curved seams
- how to sew Drunkard’s Path blocks
- how to sew Jacob’s Coat blocks
- an introduction to Double Wedding Ring designs
- free-form curved piecing techniques
- pressing and finishing techniques for curved patchwork
- tips and tricks to improve accuracy and confidence
π§΅ This workshop focuses on learning techniques rather than completing a finished project, giving you the opportunity to practise a range of curved piecing methods and develop skills you can use in future patchwork projects.
By the end of the course, you’ll have practised a variety of curved piecing techniques, gained confidence sewing curves, and developed the skills needed to tackle many curved patchwork designs.
