Sewing Retreat Days at Marston Farm Hotel

A peaceful day of sewing, wonderful food and time entirely for you

Sew Relaxing – Sewing Retreat Days

Looking for the perfect sewing escape? Join The Fabric Vault for Sew Relaxing, our wonderfully unhurried sewing retreat days, now held at the peaceful Marston Farm Hotel near Sutton Coldfield.

From 8am until 9pm, the day is entirely yours to sew, chat, enjoy delicious food and spend time with people who understand exactly why a day surrounded by fabric and sewing machines feels so special.

There are no set projects to complete and no timetable telling you what you should be making. Bring the project you would love to work on, settle into your sewing space and enjoy the rare luxury of having the whole day ahead of you.

We will be there throughout the retreat to offer help, encouragement and friendly guidance whenever you need it, while the team at Marston Farm Hotel take care of us with wonderful food, unlimited tea and coffee and warm, personal hospitality.

You can join us for one day or turn it into a two-day sewing escape, with an optional overnight stay at the hotel.

Future dates:
13th September 2026
8th and 9th November 2026

A Peaceful New Home

Sew Relaxing has found a new home at Marston Farm Hotel, a welcoming country hotel surrounded by gardens and Warwickshire countryside.

It is smaller, quieter and wonderfully personal – the perfect place to leave everyday life behind and enjoy uninterrupted sewing time.

The official hotel website highlights its countryside setting, gardens and peaceful atmosphere.

Sewing Retreat Days

Your Project, Your Pace

Bring whatever you would love to work on, whether that is a new project, a long-neglected work in progress or something you simply never seem to find time to finish at home.

There are no organised projects and no pressure to keep up with anyone else. This is your sewing time, and you can spend it exactly as you choose.

Sewing Retreat Days

Friendly Help When You Need It

We know how frustrating it can be when one small problem stops a whole project, so we will be nearby throughout the retreat to offer practical help, reassurance and another pair of eyes whenever you need them.

You are equally welcome to sew independently, enjoy the company around you and simply ask for help when something has you completely puzzled.

Sewing Retreat Days

Wonderful Food Throughout the Day

From morning refreshments to afternoon tea with scones, unlimited tea and coffee and a two-course evening meal in the hotel restaurant, you will be looked after throughout the day.

There is no need to pack meals, search for somewhere to eat or interrupt your sewing. Everything is ready for you to relax and enjoy (all dietary requirement are catered for).

A Different Kind of Retreat

Sew Relaxing is not a taught workshop and it is not a day filled with organised activities. It is something much simpler and, we think, increasingly precious – a whole day when you can stop, settle down with your sewing and allow somebody else to take care of everything around you.

Marston Farm Hotel does not have a spa, because this new chapter of Sew Relaxing is purely about the sewing. It is about a quiet hotel, a welcoming room, beautiful food, friendly company and hours of creative time without the usual interruptions waiting for you at home.

Whether you sew from 8am until 9pm, spend part of the day chatting, take a walk in the gardens or sit quietly with a cup of tea, the day is yours.

Sew Relaxing is a welcoming retreat for people who love sewing and would enjoy having an entire day set aside for it.

You can work independently, sit with friends or come alone and meet other people who understand the joy of fabric, thread and a project slowly coming together.

Some guests arrive with an ambitious list of things they hope to complete. Others bring one project, take their time, stop regularly for tea and enjoy having nowhere else they need to be. Both are absolutely fine.

There are no deadlines, no competition and no expectation that you must finish anything. The purpose of the day is simply to enjoy your sewing and leave feeling rested, encouraged and perhaps a little more creative than when you arrived.
