Welcome to The Fabric Vault, a creative community providing a one-stop shop for all of your crafting needs.
We offer a great range of fabrics, patterns, haberdashery and more for sale, all at competitive prices. We offer local delivery within a ten mile radius, local pick up and wider delivery throughout the UK.
Our workshops are held at our own venue in The Fabric Vault, Lichfield. And they cover a wide range of crafts, activities and lessons to cater for all from beginners to experienced crafters. We welcome crafters between the age of 6years old – 99 years old (parents must accompany children between the ages of 6-12years old).
Crafting a Community –
We’ve created The Fabric Vault to not only be an affordable place to get your hands on materials for all of your creative projects, but a helpful community of like-minded crafters. As well as our helpful workshop tutorials, we hold social gatherings in order to get to know others while working on projects, opportunities to show off your hard work and even room and sewing machine hire.

It’s amazing the effects that Covid can have. It led to us changing careers, making a hobby into a part time business and then expanding into a full time career and opening a new shop in April 2022!
We both have a background in education and schools, but also have experience in retail. During lockdown Dagmar replaced her aging sewing machine with a new one and regained her love of sewing and hand embroidery. This then led to her making cushions and soft furnishings which we took to classic car shows once lockdown had been lifted. This became so successful along with requests for more designs and materials and so the idea of “The Fabric Vault” was born.
The Fabric Vault is a comprehensive, one-stop shop for all your Fabrics, Sewing, Knitting and Haberdashery needs. We are located within the historic city of Lichfield on Tudor Row. Our shop comprises of two floors, the ground floor being sales which is stocked with a wide range of fabrics of many varieties and designs which we take pride in choosing ourselves along with an extensive array of equipment and supplies. We are incredibly proud of the wide range of Gutermann, Prym and DMC threads available in our shop.
Upstairs you will find our crafting room. Located here are several sewing machines, two overlockers, long arm quilting machine and an embroidery machine, which can be booked out for sessions during opening hours. We also have several sewing machines, overlocker and embroidery machine which can be rented out for customers to take home and use.
As the community and well-being are so important to both of us, we will be hosting not only workshops but also drop-in sessions/coffee & craft chats where you can bring your latest projects and meet like minded crafters for a cuppa and a chat.

Community Chats!
We aim to create a get-together for people with the same interests, and a nice chat with tea, coffee and biscuits. Bring along your own projects and have a chance to talk to others about theirs. These are completely free and tend to be on our late opening evening of Tuesday and Thursday from 4 o’clock onwards. But, we are more than happy to put the kettle on and have a chat whenever we are open.
