Over recent months, many contributors and visitors have asked whether a commemorative book could be created to preserve the remarkable story of the Community Table Runner Project.
We are now exploring the possibility of producing a beautifully presented A4-sized book celebrating both the finished runner itself and the many people, memories, and experiences behind it.
The aim would be to create something that becomes:

The proposed commemorative book may include:
The Community Table Runner is more than a collaborative textile artwork.
It is a collective portrait of a community — capturing memories, creativity, friendship, grief, celebration, local history, and shared experiences stitched together over many months.
Every square within the runner carries its own meaning and its own story.
The commemorative book would help preserve these stories for future generations, ensuring that the voices, creativity, and spirit behind the project remain part of Lichfield’s continuing story.
“This is a work of complete humanity.” – Eleanor
At this stage, we are simply gathering expressions of interest from people who may wish to hear more about the proposed commemorative book in future.
Registering your interest:
The Community Table Runner Project has always belonged to the people of Lichfield and the many individuals, groups, schools, organisations, volunteers, and visitors who became part of its story.
Thank you to everyone who stitched, supported, encouraged, reflected, volunteered, and helped bring the project to life.
The story continues.
