The Community Table Runner Project has brought together hundreds of people through creativity, conversation, shared experiences, and textile art.
We are delighted to offer talks, workshops, and community projects for schools, community groups, WI groups, craft groups, churches, charities, care settings, museums, libraries, and other organisations interested in learning more about the project.
Whether you are looking for an inspiring guest speaker, a creative activity for your members, or a longer-term community project, we can tailor a session to suit your group.
Our talks explore the remarkable journey of the Community Table Runner Project, from the first conversations with Lichfield Cathedral through to the completed artwork, Royal Visit, Blessing Ceremony, and continuing exhibition programme.
Topics may include:
Talks can be adapted to suit different audiences, interests, and time requirements.
Many groups enjoy combining a talk with a simple hands-on textile activity.
Following a presentation about the project, participants can take part in a creative session inspired by the Community Table Runner. Activities can be adapted to suit different ages, abilities, and available time.
These sessions encourage creativity, conversation, and connection, while giving participants the opportunity to experience some of the techniques and ideas that helped shape the original project.
For organisations looking for a more in-depth experience, we can work alongside your group to create a collaborative textile project inspired by the Community Table Runner.
Over a series of sessions, participants can design and create individual textile squares which are then combined into a unique piece of community artwork.
Each project can be tailored to reflect the stories, memories, heritage, creativity, and identity of the group taking part.
At the end of the project, your organisation will have its own completed textile piece to display and celebrate.
Our talks and workshops can be adapted for:
We would be delighted to discuss your group and help create a session that meets your needs.
