About this Lesson

Has your child got a sewing machine but isn’t quite sure where to start?

This beginner-friendly course is designed to help children become familiar with their own sewing machine in a relaxed and supportive environment. We will take things step by step, building confidence and understanding along the way.

In this lesson, children will learn:

• how to wind a bobbin correctly
• how to thread their sewing machine
• understanding tension settings
• simple troubleshooting techniques
• an introduction to different stitches and how to use them
• how to use their sewing machine safely and confidently

🧵 This course is all about helping children become comfortable with their own sewing machine, so we strongly encourage them to bring the machine they will be using at home.

There will be plenty of time for practice, questions, and building confidence at a comfortable pace.

By the end of the course, children will understand the basic functions of their sewing machine and be ready to move on to the next stage of their sewing journey.

Important Information for Children’s Lessons

🧵 Children aged 8–12 years old must be accompanied by an adult during their first lesson. Please book one space only and let us know that an adult will also be attending.
