About this Lesson

The Dresden Plate is one of the most loved quilt patterns from the 1920s and 1930s — elegant, versatile, and still incredibly popular today.

In this workshop, you will learn how to create your own Dresden Plate block using fabric piecing and appliqué techniques.

During this lesson, you will:

• learn how to cut and piece Dresden Plate sections
• explore colour placement and fabric combinations
• practise accurate sewing and pressing techniques
• create a finished Dresden Plate block ready to use in future projects

🧵 Please note: during this session, you will create the Dresden Plate block itself rather than a completed item. Your finished block can later be turned into a cushion, placemat, tote bag, quilt, wall hanging, or another creative project of your choice.

A wonderful session for beginners wanting to try patchwork for the first time, as well as experienced sewers who enjoy quilting and fabric design.
