About this Lesson
Would your child love to learn patchwork but doesn’t know where to start?
In this relaxed and supportive course, children will learn the foundations of patchwork while creating their own unique patchwork design. They will then transform their finished block into either a cushion or a tote bag to take home and enjoy.
In this lesson, children will learn:
- how to design their own patchwork project
- how to cut and piece fabric accurately
- tips and tricks for matching seams neatly
- how to choose fabrics that work beautifully together
- how patchwork blocks are constructed
- how patchwork can be used to create a variety of projects
Children can choose to turn their finished patchwork block into:
🧵 A cushion
🧵 A tote bag
🧵 The creative possibilities are endless!
This is a fantastic introduction to patchwork and quilting, helping children build confidence with their sewing machine while creating something practical and unique.
By the end of the course, children will have completed their own patchwork cushion or tote bag and gained valuable patchwork skills that can be used in many future projects.

Important Information for Children’s Lessons
🧵 Children aged 8–12 years old must be accompanied by an adult during their first lesson. Please book one space only and let us know that an adult will also be attending.
🧵 If your child is older than 12 but may require additional support during lessons, please contact us before booking — we will always do our best to help and discuss suitable arrangements.
