About this Lesson

Looking for a fun sewing project that’s quick to make and useful to keep?

In this creative sewing course, children will make their own squishy fabric bowl while learning useful sewing skills and construction techniques along the way.

Fabric bowls are wonderfully versatile and can be used for:

🧵 stationery and craft supplies

🧵 sewing threads and bobbins

🧵 clips, pins, and sewing tools

During this lesson, children will learn:

  • how to sew simple curves
  • how to work with wadding
  • construction and assembly techniques
  • how to improve sewing accuracy
  • how to create a practical 3D project
  • tips for neat sewing and finishing

🧵 This is a fantastic project for children who are developing their sewing skills and would like to make something useful, colourful, and completely unique.

By the end of the course, children will have completed their own fabric bowl and gained confidence using a sewing machine while creating something they can use every day.

Important Information for Children’s Lessons

🧵 Children aged 8–12 years old must be accompanied by an adult during their first lesson. Please book one space only and let us know that an adult will also be attending.

🧵 If your child is older than 12 but may require additional support during lessons, please contact us before booking — we will always do our best to help and discuss suitable arrangements.
